Set up a Datadog connector

C1 provides identity governance for Datadog. Integrate your Datadog instance with C1 to run user access reviews (UARs) and enable just-in-time access requests.

A newer version of this connector is available. This version of the connector is no longer available for installation. If you’re setting up a Datadog connector with C1 for the first time, use the v2 version.

Add a new Datadog connector

This task requires either the Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in C1.

1. In C1, navigate to Apps > Connectors and click Add connector.

2. Search for Datadog and click Add.

3. Choose where to add the connector: Create a new app, or Add to an existing app (then select the app).

   If you’re creating a new app, choose whether to link it to an application discovered from your identity provider: select Yes and pick the IdP application, or No to continue with just the connector.

   Do you SSO into Datadog using your identity, SSO, or federation provider? If so, link the connector to the Datadog application already discovered from your provider, rather than continuing without a link.

4. Set the connector’s Name and, optionally, a Description.

5. Click the pencil icon next to Owners to choose who can configure and manage this connector.

   A Datadog connector owner must have the following permissions:

   • Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in C1
   • System Admin access in Datadog
6. Click Add. The connector is created and its configuration page opens.

Configure your Datadog connector

A user with the Connector Administrator or Super Administrator role in C1 and System Admin access in Datadog must perform this task.

Step 1: Locate your Datadog site

1. Navigate to the Datadog login screen and make a note of your Datadog site:

We’ll use this in Step 4.

Step 2: Create an API Key

1. Log into Datadog account and click User Account > Organizational Settings.

2. Click API Keys and then click + New Key.

3. Enter a name for your new key, such as “C1”, and click Create Key.

4. Copy and save the newly created API key. We’ll use this in Step 4.

Step 3: Create an Application Key

1. Navigate back to Organization Settings.

2. Click Application Keys and then click + New Key.

3. Enter a name for your new key, such as “C1”, and click Create Key.

4. Copy and save the newly created application key. We’ll use this in Step 4.

Step 4: Add your Datadog credentials to C1

1. In C1, navigate to the Datadog connector by either:

   • Clicking the Set up connector link in the email you received about configuring the connector.

   • Navigate to Apps > Connectors > Datadog (if there is more than one Datadog listed, click the one with your name listed as owner and the status Not connected).

2. Find the Settings area of the page and click Edit.

3. Select your Datadog site from Step 1 from the list.

4. Paste the API key from Step 2 in the API key field.

5. Paste the application key from Step 3 in the Application key field.

6. Click Save.

7. The connector’s label changes to Syncing, followed by Connected. You can view the logs to ensure that information is syncing.

Done. Your Datadog connector is now pulling access data into C1.
